We’ve been preparing Hymn by Kati Agócs for our next program. This afternoon we met with Kati in NYC to rehearse the piece. It was great to work with her, ask questions, and hear what she had to say about the piece. Kati pushed us to go after the extremely quiet opening and hold the very slow tempo. It’s a challenge, but makes for a powerful buildup to the climax!
